According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the sacrifices of the martyrs, the courage of the veterans and the resilience of the families of fallen personnel remain a source of national strength and pride.
Pakistan observes Defence and Martyrs’ Day on September 6 every year to commemorate the sacrifices of the country’s armed forces.
Martyrs symbolise duty and sacrifice
ISPR said the martyrs of Pakistan represent the highest values of duty, honour and sacrifice.
The statement said the country’s defenders made sacrifices while protecting Pakistan on battlefields, in the air and at sea.
It added that the sacrifices of the martyrs would continue to serve as a guiding example for future generations.
The families of the fallen personnel were also described as enduring symbols of courage, resilience and steadfastness.
Armed forces reaffirm readiness
According to ISPR, Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests.
The statement said the armed forces remain committed to protecting Pakistan against threats while continuing to perform their constitutional and national responsibilities.
The message came as Pakistan marked Defence Day with ceremonies and tributes across the country.

ISPR said Pakistan seeks peace, stability and prosperity in the region and remains committed to peaceful coexistence.
The military’s statement said Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be interpreted as weakness.
The statement further warned that, according to the armed forces, any aggression against Pakistan would receive an immediate and decisive response.
