exas, United States – Web Desk:Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka produced one of the most remarkable finishes in Major League Cricket (MLC) history, claiming four wickets in four consecutive deliveries to guide the Seattle Orcas to a dramatic nine-run victory over the Texas Super Kings.
Defending a modest target of 122 runs, Seattle looked under pressure as Texas reached 107-5 entering the final over, needing 15 runs from six balls with Donovan Ferreira and Shubham Ranjane well set at the crease.
Ranjane started the over with a boundary over point before taking a single off the next delivery, reducing the equation to 10 runs required from four balls.
However, the match turned dramatically as Shanaka delivered a sensational spell. He clean bowled Donovan Ferreira with the third ball of the over before dismissing Calvin Savage, who was caught at long-on, on the very next delivery.
On the hat-trick ball, Adam Milne attempted a big shot but edged the ball to the wicketkeeper, completing Shanaka’s hat-trick and effectively sealing the match.
Shanaka then capped off an unforgettable over by dismissing Amish de Silva on the final delivery, caught brilliantly by Shimron Hetmyer, completing an extraordinary four wickets in four consecutive balls.
Seattle Orcas secured a memorable nine-run victory, while Shanaka became the first bowler in Major League Cricket history to take four wickets in four successive deliveries, setting a new tournament record.
