ISLAMABAD – Web Desk: The caretaker chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan has announced that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) will soon become operational in the region to strengthen security and law enforcement capabilities.

The announcement came after a meeting between Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and caretaker Chief Minister Justice (R) Yar Muhammad Khan. Discussions focused on security arrangements for upcoming elections, maintenance of law and order, and initiatives to promote tourism.

The caretaker chief minister stated that operationalizing the CTD in Gilgit-Baltistan would enhance counterterrorism capabilities and improve the region’s security infrastructure. In response, the interior minister assured full federal support, including the provision of modern technology and equipment to strengthen CTD operations.
