Cross-Border Fire: Afghan Taliban Target Pakistan, Checkpost Destroyed

Peshawar, Pakistan – Web Desk: At Pakistan’s Khyber district border with Afghanistan, Afghan Taliban forces initiated unprovoked firing targeting Pakistani positions, prompting a swift and decisive response from security forces.

According to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s spokesperson for foreign media, Musharraf Zaidi, the Taliban fired indiscriminately at border points in Torkham and Tirah. Pakistani security forces responded immediately, neutralizing the threat.

Security sources confirmed that skirmishes occurred at three separate locations along the border and continued for approximately one hour. All Pakistani troops remained safe during the engagement, while one Afghan checkpost was hit and completely destroyed during the retaliatory action.

The Prime Minister’s spokesperson emphasized that any further aggression would be met with immediate and strong retaliation. Pakistan remains committed to protecting its citizens and defending its territorial integrity.
