Court Hearing Reveals Details in Anmol Alias Pinky Case

Date:

Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Fresh details have emerged from court proceedings in the high-profile cocaine case involving accused Anmol alias Pinky during a hearing at the Karachi Central Jail judicial complex under tight security.

The court questioned the need for an extended physical remand, noting that the accused had already been in custody for nine days. The judge observed that further physical remand required stronger justification, adding remarks regarding remand practices in cases involving female accused persons.

According to Special Public Prosecutor Shakil Abbasi, the accused allegedly operates a personal laboratory and is linked to a wider drug trafficking network. He told the court that around 850 contacts related to drug dealings have been identified and that further investigation is required to dismantle the network.

The prosecution also argued that a manufacturing unit allegedly set up in Lahore needs to be raided, and said letters have been sent to senior police officials for further action. Officials further stated that forensic reports of seized narcotics are still awaited.

Defense lawyers rejected the allegations, arguing that the accused is being unnecessarily targeted and that no concrete progress report was presented during the nine-day remand period. They also denied the existence of any drug manufacturing unit.

During the hearing, both sides exchanged heated arguments as the prosecution pressed for additional remand while the defense opposed it.

The court ultimately sent the accused on judicial remand and directed jail authorities to produce her again on May 25. Officials confirmed that further proceedings will continue once forensic reports are received.
