China Warns US Over Taiwan Arms Sale Ahead of Trump Visit

Date:

Beijing, China – Web Desk: China has warned the United States against its planned $20 billion arms sale to Taiwan, calling the move a serious threat to bilateral ties and a potential risk to President Trump’s upcoming visit to Beijing in April.

According to Chinese officials, the sale, which includes major defense systems, undermines Beijing’s position that Taiwan is part of China. President Xi Jinping personally warned Trump in a phone call that such arms deals could negatively impact diplomatic relations.

Beijing stressed that the US must act cautiously on Taiwan to avoid escalating tensions, emphasizing that foreign arms sales threaten regional peace and violate China’s sovereignty claims. Analysts note this warning could further complicate US-China relations amid trade and diplomatic negotiations.
