Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Web Desk: Explosions were heard in Dubai and Manama on Saturday as tensions escalated across the Persian Gulf, according to journalists from Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Two blasts were reported in Dubai, part of the United Arab Emirates, while another explosion was heard in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, where warning sirens were also activated.
Authorities in Bahrain urged residents to remain calm and seek safe shelter following the incident.
“Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place,” the Bahrain Interior Ministry said in a message posted on the social media platform X.
The explosions come amid heightened regional tensions following a week of retaliatory attacks by Iran targeting locations across Gulf countries after a series of strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian sites.
Security analysts say the Gulf region remains on high alert as the conflict continues to widen, raising fears of further attacks on strategic cities and energy infrastructure.
Authorities in both the UAE and Bahrain have not immediately confirmed the cause of the explosions or reported casualties.
The Gulf region hosts critical global energy infrastructure and major international trade routes, making any escalation a significant concern for global markets and security.
