SYLHET, Bangladesh – Web Desk: Bangladesh have whitewashed Pakistan in the two-match Test series, defeating the visitors by 78 runs in the second Test at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
On the final day of the match, Bangladesh needed just three wickets to seal victory, while Pakistan required 121 runs for an unlikely win. The visiting team, chasing a daunting target of 437 runs, were bowled out for 359, handing the hosts a comprehensive 78-run victory.
This historic series sweep marks Bangladesh’s first-ever whitewash over Pakistan in Test cricket. Earlier, in the first Test held in Dhaka, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 104 runs.
The result is a major setback for the Pakistani Test side, who struggled to contain the Bangladeshi batsmen and failed to build substantial partnerships in both matches. For Bangladesh, the series win is a landmark achievement in their rise as a competitive Test nation.
