Bangladesh Cricket Corruption Scandal: Four Charged, Player Banned

Dhaka, Bangladesh – Web Desk: Bangladesh cricket has been shaken by a major corruption scandal after the country’s cricket integrity unit charged four individuals, including a domestic cricketer, over alleged violations of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.

According to officials, the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) Anti-Corruption Unit issued charges related to betting activities, attempted corruption, failure to comply with official notices under Article 4.3, and obstruction of investigations through deletion or concealment of communications.

A cricketer linked with Chattogram Royals in the 2025–26 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), identified as Semim Rahman, has been handed a lifetime ban for alleged involvement in betting-related activities.

Meanwhile, cricketer Amit Majumder, team managers Lablur Rahman and Rizwan Kabir Siddique, along with Noakhali Express co-owner Tohidul Haque, have been accused of corruption-related offenses, including betting involvement and failure to cooperate with integrity officials.

All four individuals have been placed under provisional suspension and have been given 14 days to respond to the charges.
