Manama accepts US invitation, backing Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace framework
Bahrain has officially accepted the United States’ invitation to join President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza Board of Peace, becoming the second Muslim country to do so after the United Arab Emirates.
According to Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa approved the decision, reflecting Manama’s support for the full implementation of President Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan, which the kingdom says safeguards the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The Bahraini government expressed hope that the Board of Peace would promote international cooperation, support regional stability, and pave the way for long-term development and prosperity in Gaza and the wider Middle East.
Under the US-led initiative, member countries will serve a maximum three-year term, while nations seeking permanent membership must contribute $1 billion toward the board’s financial operations. The board will be chaired by President Donald Trump.
Earlier, the United Arab Emirates became the first Muslim nation to formally endorse the initiative. President Trump has also extended an invitation to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to join the Gaza Board of Peace.
