Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Former Pakistan opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad became emotional during a live television interview after being excluded from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, expressing both personal disappointment and parental concern.
The incident took place on a private TV channel where host Tabish Hashmi asked Shehzad how he felt about being left out of the league for the past three years despite being part of a PSL title-winning team in the past.
“I feel very sad for myself. I am happy to see my fellow players doing well, but I feel depressed thinking about my own situation,” Shehzad said, struggling to hold back tears.
The former international cricketer became visibly emotional while talking about his nine-year-old son, revealing that the child eagerly wants to see him play again. “The most painful part is that my son is now nine years old, and he wants to watch me play,” Shehzad said. “He sleeps with me and tells me, ‘Papa, I remember you played, but now I want to remember you properly.’”

Shehzad added that while he is generally content with life, the PSL snub and the desire to fulfill his son’s wish hit him deeply. “I am happy in general, but this situation touches my heart and causes me significant sadness,” he said.
