Agha Shahbaz Durrani Takes Oath in Sindh Assembly; CM Murad Ali Shah Delivers Emotional Address

Date:

KARACHI (Staff Reporter): The oath-taking ceremony of Agha Shahbaz Durrani as a member of the Sindh Assembly was marked by an emotional speech from Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who congratulated Durrani, his family, and the leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

The Chief Minister said that the people had once again placed their trust in the PPP by electing Agha Shahbaz with a decisive majority, calling it a proud moment for his family. Reflecting on his personal memories, Shah recalled seeing the Durrani family’s legacy since childhood, mentioning that he had witnessed Agha Sudduddin Durrani serving as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, walking in the old hall and sitting in the gallery.

Murad Ali Shah noted that many say Agha Shahbaz resembles his father in mannerisms and speech, adding that he himself observed Shahbaz walking like his grandfather and speaking with the same deep voice that was the hallmark of the late Agha Sudduddin Durrani.

Speaking about Agha Siraj Durrani, the Chief Minister said he was regarded as a brotherly figure by all. He recalled that in 2008, when he first joined the provincial cabinet, his seat was next to Agha Siraj, under then-Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, from whom he learned a great deal. He emphasized that the Durrani family’s connection with Sindh’s politics is longstanding and deeply rooted.

Congratulating Agha Shahbaz from the heart, Murad Ali Shah expressed confidence that he would work for the welfare and interests of the people of Sindh. He highlighted that Shahbaz, while taking his oath, made it clear that his mission is public service — a pledge shared by every PPP member and legislator to serve their constituencies, the people of Sindh, and Pakistan.

The Chief Minister further said he was certain Agha Shahbaz would live up to the expectations of the people with full dedication. He also congratulated the family of the late Agha Siraj Durrani for continuing his mission by supporting Shahbaz, who now stands as a member of the Assembly.

In conclusion, Murad Ali Shah extended congratulations on behalf of himself, his party, and the entire Assembly to Agha Shahbaz Durrani.
