WHO Issues Alert as 14.4 Million Afghans Denied Basic Medical Care
Kabul, Afghanistan – Web Desk: Afghanistan’s health system is in crisis under Taliban rule, leaving 14.4 million citizens without basic medical care. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 422 hospitals and clinics were closed in 2025 alone, affecting 3 million people. Restrictions on female doctors and extremist policies have worsened access for Afghan women, turning the country into a global hotspot for polio. Experts warn that Taliban mismanagement, corruption, and obstruction of international NGOs have intensified the humanitarian disaster.
