JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia — WEB DESK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Saudi Arabia on Thursday for a three-day official visit, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and holding high-level discussions on regional developments, economic cooperation and investment.
According to official sources, the prime minister is scheduled to meet Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, along with other senior Saudi officials, to review the longstanding strategic partnership between the two countries.
The talks are expected to focus on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, defence and labour, while also addressing key regional and international developments, including the evolving security situation in the Middle East.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy close diplomatic, economic and defence ties, with Riyadh remaining one of Islamabad’s key strategic partners and a major source of investment and financial support.
The visit is also expected to reinforce ongoing collaboration under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, encouraging greater investment opportunities and enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors.
Officials said the discussions would reaffirm both countries’ commitment to deepening bilateral engagement and promoting peace, stability and sustainable economic growth in the region.
The prime minister’s visit comes at a time of heightened geopolitical activity in the Middle East, with Pakistan continuing to engage regional partners on issues of mutual interest through active diplomacy.
