KARACHI – Web Desk: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has described Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi as the most powerful minister in the current government, claiming he is not accountable to the Prime Minister in several matters.
Speaking on a private TV channel, Asif said Naqvi is not part of the system despite being Interior Minister, adding that he has only seen him at cabinet meetings two or three times and that Naqvi has attended Parliament only seven or eight times. “Now if Mohsin Naqvi is complaining, then we should go home,” Asif said.
Naqvi recently stated that the current system has become so weak that if the situation continues, the country will remain trapped in the same problems for another decade. He called for the creation of new administrative units or provinces as essential for the country’s improvement and development, arguing that the current system has lost its effectiveness.
