Canadian Authorities Crack Down on Indian-Origin Criminal Network, Seize $139 Million in Drugs

Date:

OTTAWA – Web Desk: Canadian security agencies have cracked down on an Indian-origin criminal network involved in cross-border smuggling, arresting multiple Indian-origin truck drivers in a major operation, according to Indian media reports.

The operation resulted in the seizure of 1.7 tons of illegal drugs valued at approximately $139 million. Investigations have revealed an extensive illegal commercial transport network linked to individuals of Indian origin, according to NDTV.

Canadian expert Wade Deisman described the Indian-origin gang as a “very large criminal organization” involved in numerous serious crimes worldwide. The global spread of Indian-origin criminal groups has raised questions about the effectiveness of Indian government policies and law enforcement strategies.
