The US Central Command (Centcom) has rejected Iranian claims that American forces targeted a wheat storage facility in Hoveyzeh during recent military operations, insisting that only military objectives were struck.
Washington, United States – Web Desk: In a statement posted on X, Centcom said that on July 14, US forces conducted strikes against Iranian military targets in Bandar Abbas, Khormuj, Ahvaz, Qeshm, Tunb, Bushehr, and Kuh-i-Stak. According to the command, the operations were intended to further degrade Iran’s military capabilities allegedly used to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Centcom denied targeting civilian infrastructure and accused Iran of endangering civilians and commercial vessels transiting the strategic waterway, as well as neighbouring Gulf countries.
The exchange of claims comes amid escalating tensions in the Gulf region, with both sides issuing conflicting accounts of recent military operations.
