The federal cabinet has approved Pakistan’s Haj Policy 2027–2030, introducing the country’s first comprehensive four-year framework aimed at improving services for pilgrims, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring long-term planning for future Haj operations.
Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: During Monday’s cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and cabinet members praised Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf and his ministry for successfully managing this year’s Haj arrangements.
A detailed briefing informed the cabinet that, unlike previous one-year policies, the new four-year Haj framework will provide greater continuity in planning, strengthen administrative efficiency and improve facilities and services for Pakistani pilgrims.
The cabinet also discussed the country’s security situation. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies for their ongoing counterterrorism operations, particularly following the killing of 15 terrorists in Balochistan. The cabinet offered prayers for the country’s martyrs.
Highlighting his recent official visit to Türkiye, the prime minister said he attended a major business conference showcasing investment opportunities in Pakistan. The event featured presentations on the privatisation of power distribution companies, renewable energy projects, reducing transmission losses, and investment prospects in the mines and minerals sector.
According to the prime minister, the conference attracted significant participation from Turkish investors and business leaders, many of whom expressed strong interest in Pakistan’s economic potential.
PM Shehbaz said his meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and strategic sectors. He thanked the Turkish leadership for its continued support and expressed confidence that Pakistan–Türkiye relations would continue to strengthen in the years ahead.
