Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Jamaat-e-Islami’s headquarters in Mansoorah on Tuesday for a high-level meeting with party chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, where both leaders welcomed the recent Iran-US rapprochement as a positive development for regional peace and stability.
The meeting covered Pakistan’s overall political landscape, economic challenges, and law and order situation. Both leaders praised Pakistan’s diplomatic role in facilitating the understanding between Tehran and Washington, with Hafiz Naeem stating that the country’s contribution would be remembered as a significant diplomatic achievement.
Interior Minister Naqvi briefed the Jamaat-e-Islami chief on the government’s diplomatic initiatives regarding the Iran-US negotiations. He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for playing an unforgettable role in advancing peace, saying, “The credit for eliminating tensions in the region goes to Pakistan. We are grateful to Almighty Allah for accepting our humble efforts.”
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman commended Pakistan’s sincere role in the peace process, adding that the development had paved the way for lasting peace across the entire region.
The JI chief also raised the humanitarian issue of Pakistani nationals stranded in Somalia, urging the government to play an effective diplomatic role for their immediate and safe repatriation. The two leaders further held detailed discussions on strengthening the national economy and providing relief to citizens facing economic challenges
