MUMBAI – Web Desk: Senior Indian actor Govind Namdev has quit the film ‘Kala Harn’, which is linked to Salman Khan’s famous blackbuck poaching case, dealing a major blow to the project ahead of its release, according to Indian media reports.
Namdev accused the filmmakers of misleading him, stating that when he agreed to be part of the project, he was told a different story. He said he was initially told he would be working on a film titled ‘Sumbul’, but later discovered the film’s name had been changed to ‘Kala Harn’ and that it was connected to Salman Khan’s case.
The actor claimed he was assured that the film would only present court proceedings and on-record facts, with no fictional or sensational elements added. He stated that Salman Khan is a close friend and he would never have become part of any effort to target the actor or present him in a controversial manner.
Namdev also said he could not be associated with the Bishnoi gang or such controversies in any way. The controversy intensified when Salman Khan’s legal team issued a legal notice to the producers, arguing that the film is being made in the backdrop of the blackbuck case and is using Khan’s identity and personality inappropriately.
