slamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: A severe heatwave continues to grip most parts of Pakistan, with extreme hot and dry conditions expected to persist across the country, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The weather department reported that Sibi recorded the highest temperature at 49°C on the previous day, making it one of the hottest locations in the country.
Other major cities also experienced intense heat, including Dadu and Jacobabad at 48°C, Turbat and Mohenjo Daro at 47°C, and Sukkur, Nawabshah, and Dera Ghazi Khan at 46°C. Multan and Bahawalpur recorded 45°C, while Lahore reached 43°C. Islamabad and Muzaffarabad recorded 40°C, Karachi and Quetta 37°C, and Gilgit 34°C.
Officials said the ongoing heatwave is expected to continue until at least June 12, with Sindh and other southern regions likely to experience moderate to severe heat conditions during this period.
For Karachi, the Met Office warned that temperatures could rise up to 42°C in the coming days, while the city may see highs of around 39°C today. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures amid the intense weather conditions.
