Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan has expressed concern over what it described as irresponsible remarks made by some expatriates based in the United Kingdom regarding Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Pakistan rejects unnecessary comments on AJK and has urged individuals abroad to refrain from interfering in Pakistan’s internal affairs. The spokesperson added that such individuals should contribute positively to the development of their host countries.
The Foreign Office also noted concerns over remarks and questions raised by certain British parliamentarians, saying they reflect a lack of understanding of the historical context of the issue. It reiterated that Pakistan is a sovereign and democratic state and adheres to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, expecting the same from others.
The spokesperson further said that both the Government of Pakistan and the AJK administration respect peaceful assembly, freedom of expression, and participation in democratic processes within constitutional limits. However, violence, damage to public property—particularly hospitals—and attacks on civilians or law enforcement personnel are unacceptable.
Pakistan has also urged the UK government to discourage support for banned organizations and to ensure that individuals respect democratic processes, court rulings, and the rule of law.
The statement reaffirmed that Pakistan and AJK remain committed to constitutional governance, democratic values, and the supremacy of law.
