Japan – Web Desk: In the Under-18 Asia Cup Hockey semi-final, India Under-18 Hockey Team defeated Pakistan Under-18 Hockey Team by 5–3 to secure a place in the final.
The match, played in Japan, saw a high-intensity contest between the two traditional rivals. India took an early lead through a penalty stroke in the 12th minute. Pakistan responded strongly, equalising before half-time to make it 1–1 at the break.
The third quarter saw momentum swing both ways, with Pakistan briefly taking the lead after scoring two quick goals. However, India responded in the final quarter with a dominant attacking display.
India’s Ashish Tani delivered a standout performance, scoring four goals including a hat-trick, helping his side seal a 5–3 victory. Pakistan struggled to maintain defensive control in the closing stages.
India will now face Japan in the final, while Pakistan will compete against Malaysia for third place.
