Jacobabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of a major arson incident in Jacobabad, where more than 100 homes were reportedly set on fire following a love marriage dispute.
The chief minister directed the Commissioner and DIG of Larkana to submit a detailed report and ordered strict action against those responsible. He also instructed authorities to provide immediate assistance to affected families and investigate who ordered the attack.
“No one can be allowed to endanger the lives and property of citizens,” Murad Ali Shah said, describing the burning of more than 100 houses as an “inhumane and intolerable act.”
According to SSP Jacobabad Faizan Ali, preliminary investigations suggest that a couple from villages Sadiq Arain and Ghazi Khan Channa had contracted a love marriage through a Hyderabad court. Following the marriage, armed men allegedly attacked and torched homes in the village.
Malhar Barro, father of the groom, questioned why innocent villagers were targeted and claimed that around 400 armed men led by Saddam Barro and tribal elder Ahmed Ali Channa set the village on fire.
Ahmed Ali Channa denied involvement in the incident, alleging instead that an underage girl from his village had been abducted. He said legal action would be pursued through the courts and rejected accusations linking him to the arson attack.
The incident has sparked outrage across Pakistan and raised concerns over tribal violence, forced retaliation, and law and order in rural Sindh.
