Tel Aviv, Israel – Web Desk: Israeli authorities have arrested several suspects, including two soldiers, in connection with the theft of weapons from military bases, according to local media reports.
Israeli news channel i24NEWS reported that the arrests were made following at least four separate incidents of weapons theft in recent weeks. The total number of detainees has not been officially disclosed, though multiple individuals are currently in custody.
Authorities allege that stolen weapons were removed from Israeli military installations and transferred to unidentified groups operating inside Israel.
The report also noted that similar incidents have occurred in recent years, where military personnel were accused of stealing weapons from bases and allegedly supplying them to various groups within the country.
Security officials have launched an investigation into the network behind the thefts and the possible destinations of the missing weapons.
