Tehran, Iran – Web Desk:Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that recent tensions in the Strait of Hormuz underline the limits of military solutions, stressing that diplomacy remains the only viable path forward.
In a statement posted on social media, Araghchi noted that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts have contributed to “noticeable progress” in ongoing indirect talks between Iran and the United States. He described Pakistan’s role as constructive and important in easing regional tensions.
The Iranian foreign minister warned Washington to remain cautious of actors that could push it into a broader conflict, while also advising regional players to avoid actions that may escalate instability.
He criticized the U.S.-led maritime initiative “Project Freedom,” calling it counterproductive and labeling it a “project of deadlock” rather than a pathway to resolution.
Analysts say the remarks come at a time of heightened tensions in the Gulf, where disruptions in shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz—one of the world’s most critical oil transit corridors—pose risks to global energy markets and international trade.
