Trump Warns Iran War Will Drive Further Fuel Price Increases for Public

Date:

Washington, D.C., United States – Web Desk: U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that Americans are likely to face higher gasoline prices in the near term due to the ongoing conflict involving Iran.

Speaking to reporters at the White House’s Oval Office, Trump said the increase in fuel costs would be temporary but necessary in pursuit of broader strategic goals.

“Americans may have to pay higher prices for a short period, but in return, they will see an Iran that cannot develop nuclear weapons or threaten U.S. cities or the Middle East,” he said.

The president declined to provide a clear timeline on Iran’s response to a proposed long-term ceasefire, urging patience and noting that past conflicts had taken longer to resolve.

Trump also claimed that internal divisions within Iran were limiting its ability to present a unified position in negotiations, suggesting that political infighting was complicating diplomatic efforts.

He added that the United States had achieved approximately 75% of its operational objectives in the conflict and that military actions were scaled back primarily because Iran was seeking a ceasefire.

The U.S. leader acknowledged the possibility that Iran may have attempted to regroup its military capabilities during the pause in hostilities but maintained that U.S. forces retain the ability to neutralize those capabilities rapidly if necessary.
