PIA to Airlift 55,000 Hajj Pilgrims as Flights Begin April 19

Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will begin its pre-Hajj flight operations on April 19, transporting more than 55,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, the airline announced.

According to a PIA spokesperson, a total of 191 flights will operate from major cities including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Quetta.

Of the total pilgrims, around 49,000 will travel under the government scheme, while over 6,000 will perform Hajj through private tour operators.

The largest number of pilgrims will depart from Islamabad and Karachi, followed by Lahore and other cities. The first flight, PK-747, will depart from Sialkot to Medina in the early hours of April 19, carrying more than 390 pilgrims. Additional inaugural flights from Faisalabad, Multan, Islamabad, Quetta, Karachi, and Lahore will follow over the next few days.

PIA officials said dedicated teams at airports in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will assist pilgrims with guidance and support throughout their journey.

The pre-Hajj flight operation is scheduled to conclude on May 21, with the airline stating that all arrangements have been finalized to ensure smooth travel and services for pilgrims.
