Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom – Web Desk: A rugby match in Kingston upon Hull was delayed by 80 minutes after a suspected bomb scare near the stadium prompted emergency security measures.

The incident occurred ahead of the Betfred Championship match between Goole Vikings and Whitehaven R.L.F.C. at Victoria Pleasure Ground.

According to club officials, a suspicious object was discovered during routine pre-match security checks near the ground. Authorities immediately activated emergency protocols, evacuated surrounding areas, and informed local police, including Humberside Police.

The stadium was temporarily placed under lockdown as bomb disposal experts were deployed to assess the situation.

After a detailed inspection, officials confirmed that the object was a non-explosive replica grenade, which was safely removed from the site. The match later proceeded following clearance.

No injuries or threats were reported.
