Date:

Karachi-Web Desk: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) posted strong weekly gains, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index surging 11% amid growing investor optimism following the Iran–US ceasefire.

The KSE-100 Index climbed by 16,792 points over the week, closing at 167,091 points, reflecting renewed confidence in regional stability and improved market sentiment.

During the trading week, the index fluctuated within a wide range of 20,518 points, hitting a high of 168,290 points and a low of 147,771 points, indicating heightened volatility alongside bullish momentum.

Market activity remained robust, with a total of 3.3 billion shares traded and overall transactions valued at Rs203.6 billion.

Despite the strong rally in the index, overall market capitalization declined by Rs1,748 billion, settling at Rs18,473 billion by the end of the week, suggesting sector-specific adjustments and profit-taking.

Analysts attribute the surge primarily to easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, as the Iran–US ceasefire raised hopes for stability in global markets, particularly in energy and emerging economies like Pakistan.
