Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: US Vice President J. D. Vance has arrived in Islamabad leading a high-level delegation for critical negotiations with Iran aimed at securing a comprehensive ceasefire.
Vance was accompanied by senior officials, including US President Donald Trump’s adviser Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner.
The delegation was received at Nur Khan Airbase by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir.
According to officials, the US vice president’s aircraft took an extended route to Islamabad, avoiding Middle Eastern airspace amid heightened regional tensions. The flight departed from Maryland and made a brief stopover in Paris before continuing toward Pakistan.
Flight tracking details indicate the aircraft avoided Afghan airspace, instead passing through Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan before entering Pakistan near Chitral at approximately 10:00am local time. The Pakistan Air Force escorted the aircraft upon entry into national airspace, with the plane landing at Nur Khan Airbase at 10:33am.
The visit comes as Islamabad hosts high-stakes US-Iran negotiations, with global attention focused on efforts to stabilise the region following recent conflict and a fragile ceasefire.
