Beirut Devastated as Hospitals Overwhelmed by Strikes

Date:

Beirut, Lebanon – Web Desk: Lebanon’s capital Beirut has been devastated by recent Israeli airstrikes, leaving hospitals overwhelmed and struggling to cope with a massive influx of casualties.

According to initial figures from the Ministry of Public Health Lebanon, more than 300 people have been killed and over 1,000 injured, including a large number of women, children, and elderly civilians.

Reports indicate that over 100 locations were targeted within minutes, resulting in widespread destruction and a sudden surge of critically injured patients being rushed to hospitals. In one major hospital in Beirut, over 70 injured individuals arrived within an hour, many in critical condition.

Medical staff have warned that essential supplies, medicines, and equipment are rapidly depleting, raising fears of a worsening humanitarian crisis. The Lebanese Red Cross described the situation as “nightmarish,” noting that healthcare facilities were already operating under limited resources before the attacks.

The World Health Organization has also cautioned that critical medical kits could run out within days if the situation continues.

Doctors reported that many deaths were caused by building collapses and severe blast injuries, with even infants among those in intensive care. Meanwhile, families continue to search hospitals for missing loved ones, adding to the emotional toll.

Experts warn that Lebanon’s ongoing economic crisis, combined with disrupted imports and power shortages, is further straining the healthcare system, with many hospitals relying on generators to function.

Despite the crisis, citizens have shown solidarity by donating blood, but health officials stress that ending the conflict is the only long-term solution to prevent further tragedy.
