Lebanon PM Requests Pakistan’s Support to End Attacks on Civilians

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has called on Pakistan for urgent support to halt ongoing attacks on Lebanon and its civilians, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

The request came during a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing aggression against Lebanon and expressed sorrow over the loss of thousands of lives.

Shahbaz Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s active role in regional peace efforts, including facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at stability and the protection of civilians.

Prime Minister Salam appreciated Pakistan’s peace efforts and requested confirmation that Lebanon is included in the ceasefire framework, aiming to prevent further attacks similar to those that claimed over 200 lives in Lebanon in recent Israeli strikes.

The Lebanese premier’s request comes amid contrasting positions from the United States and Israel, who assert that Lebanon is not part of the ceasefire. Meanwhile, Iran’s parliamentary speaker warned that Lebanon should be considered an essential party to the ceasefire.
