Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Pakistan Cricket Board has imposed a fine of Rs20 million on fast bowler Naseem Shah for breaching the terms of his central contract and violating social media guidelines.
According to the PCB, a show-cause notice was issued to the player on March 27, after which the matter was reviewed by a three-member disciplinary committee. The board noted that Naseem Shah submitted an unconditional apology during the proceedings.
Following a detailed review of evidence, the committee concluded that the player had violated multiple clauses of his central contract as well as established social media protocols. As a result, a financial penalty of Rs20 million was imposed.
In a related development, Naseem Shah’s social media advisor has been dismissed. The PCB has also decided to blacklist the advisor, barring them from working with any PCB-contracted players in the future.
The board reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining professional standards, discipline, and strict adherence to contractual obligations across Pakistan cricket.
