Pakistan’s Phone Diplomacy Key in Middle East Ceasefire Talks

Date:

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan has played a critical role in facilitating ceasefire talks amid the ongoing Middle East conflict, with its leadership relying heavily on telephonic diplomacy to reduce regional tensions, according to a report by a U.S. media outlet.

The report highlights that Pakistani leaders maintained continuous contact with key international capitals including Tehran, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Istanbul, and Brussels. These discussions focused on restoring peace and advancing potential negotiations between conflicting parties.

Pakistan’s close diplomatic links with U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian have positioned the country as a trusted intermediary in the region. Pakistani officials, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, actively engaged in these diplomatic efforts to ease hostilities.

Additionally, German Foreign Minister Johan Wede Fohl confirmed that indirect communications between Washington and Tehran had taken place, and preparations for a direct high-level meeting are underway, potentially hosted in Pakistan.

Experts say Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy underscores its rising regional influence and global credibility. If successful, these initiatives could mark a significant step toward resolving the ongoing Middle East conflict.
