WASHINGTON, United States – Web Desk: U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff has acknowledged Pakistan’s pivotal role in facilitating communication between Washington and Tehran, describing recent exchanges as “positive and constructive.”
Speaking in Washington, Witkoff said that the United States, in coordination with Pakistan’s foreign policy team, developed a 15-point action plan aimed at forming the basis of a potential peace agreement with Iran.
According to the envoy, Pakistan acted as a key intermediary, delivering the proposal to Tehran and helping to convey responses between both sides. He noted that Iran’s initial reaction to the framework indicated a degree of openness, suggesting that diplomatic efforts may be gaining traction.
Witkoff emphasized that Pakistan is serving as an important “bridge” in the process, helping to maintain dialogue at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East.
Analysts say Pakistan’s mediation efforts reflect its growing diplomatic relevance and credibility on the global stage, particularly during a period of escalating conflict. If sustained, such engagement could contribute to easing tensions and opening the door to formal negotiations between the United States and Iran.
