Beirut, Lebanon – Web Desk: Israeli forces carried out intense airstrikes across Lebanon, including the capital Beirut, killing at least 20 people and injuring dozens, Lebanese health authorities reported on Wednesday.
According to local media, Israeli jets targeted a building in the Bachoura district of Beirut, resulting in a powerful explosion and heavy smoke. Residents were reportedly warned to evacuate the area before the attack.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed that casualties included at least 6 dead in Beirut, with the attacks spreading to southern and eastern parts of the country. Since March 2, Israeli strikes have reportedly claimed over 900 lives in Lebanon.
The Israeli military also announced limited ground operations in southern Lebanon, prompting immediate evacuation orders for residents near the Zahrani River and areas close to Tyre.
News agencies reported that additional strikes occurred overnight in Tyre, Al-Burj Al-Shamali, and other locations, escalating tensions across the region.
The international community has expressed growing concern over the escalating violence, which has intensified civilian casualties and displacement in Lebanon.
