The Hundred: Usman Tariq Signed for £140,000, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf Remain Unsold

Date:

London, United Kingdom – Web Desk: Emerging Pakistani spin bowler Usman Tariq has secured a £140,000 contract with Birmingham Phoenix during the player draft of The Hundred tournament in the United Kingdom.

Franchises participating in the league placed bids for international and domestic players during the auction, with Birmingham Phoenix successfully signing the promising Pakistani spinner.

However, Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf and all-rounder Shadab Khan were not picked by any team during the draft.

In another notable development, Pakistan’s young mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed was bought for £190,000 by the franchise Sunrisers Leeds.

Reports suggest this marks the first time a Pakistani cricketer has been signed by an Indian-owned franchise for a major international league event.

The Hundred is one of England’s leading franchise cricket competitions, featuring top international stars alongside emerging talent from around the world.
