Tokyo, Japan – Web Desk : Japan has declined to send its troops to the Strait of Hormuz for mine-clearing operations amid rising regional tensions.
Japanese Prime Minister Sanai Taikachi stated that Tokyo will prioritize diplomatic efforts and international cooperation over military deployment to reduce the current crisis in the Gulf region.
“If any action is taken to secure maritime routes, it would be non-combat and strictly limited in scope,” the Prime Minister added, emphasizing Japan’s commitment to peaceful solutions.
The decision comes as international concerns grow over the safety of key shipping lanes in the Middle East, particularly after recent attacks and closures in the Strait of Hormuz. Japan’s stance reflects its long-standing policy of avoiding direct military involvement abroad while supporting global security through diplomacy.
