Brussels, Belgium – Web Desk: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and European Union foreign ministers held an emergency video conference to address escalating tensions in the Middle East following recent Iranian missile and drone attacks.
The ministers condemned Iran’s actions targeting GCC member states and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities. The official communiqué emphasized that GCC countries have the right to defend their security and stability, and urged Iran to limit its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
Participants also stressed that Iran must cease activities that destabilize the region and Europe and stop violence against its own citizens. The meeting highlighted the urgent need for dialogue to prevent further escalation.
The gathering comes after U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran triggered retaliatory attacks against American bases and allied interests in the Gulf, a cycle of confrontation that remains ongoing.
