Washington, USA – Web Desk: U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that a “major wave” of military strikes against Iran is forthcoming and did not rule out deploying American ground forces in the country if necessary. Speaking to the press, Trump emphasized that the largest intensity of air operations against Iran has yet to occur.
Trump claimed that the initial strikes targeted Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities, nuclear ambitions, and naval assets, resulting in the deaths of around 49 senior Iranian officials, including military and security leadership. The President described the strikes as the “largest wave” so far, with extensive targeting of key strategic sites.
Addressing the loss of four U.S. service members during the operations, Trump said the mission would continue with “unwavering resolve,” adding that initial planning estimated a duration of four to five weeks, though operations could extend far longer.
Trump also noted the unexpected involvement of some Arab nations, following Iranian attacks on their territories, which prompted these countries to engage more actively in the conflict.
Regarding Iran’s leadership, Trump said he does not know who will succeed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. He added that while Iran’s current leadership is open to nuclear negotiations, the opportunity for timely dialogue has largely passed, with decisions that should have been made a week earlier.
