Courts Grant Pre-Arrest Bail to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in Toshakhana Case

Date:

(Web Desk) – Written judgments have been issued on pre-arrest bail applications of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in multiple cases, including allegations related to the Toshakhana gift repository and accusations of submitting fake receipts.

According to the orders released by the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad, Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka approved bail for both accused in the Toshakhana fake receipts case. The court noted that the prosecution failed to present concrete evidence linking the receipts to submissions before the Election Commission or the Cabinet Division.

The judgment further stated that claims of forgery were based on social media materials, which had not been forensically examined. The prosecution reportedly acknowledged relying on online images without conducting verification.

The court also granted bail in a case involving allegations of defamatory statements against high-ranking officials, noting that no substantive evidence was provided. Judges observed that the prosecution could not produce proof of speeches or statements allegedly made against the armed forces.

Officials from the prosecution side have not commented on the court’s findings. The legal proceedings continue as authorities pursue separate investigations.

The decisions highlight ongoing legal battles surrounding political accountability and evidentiary standards in high-profile cases.
