Pakistani Killed by Debris from Intercepted Iranian Missile in UAE

Date:

Abu Dhabi, UAE – Web Desk: A Pakistani national was killed in Abu Dhabi after debris from an Iranian missile, intercepted by the United Arab Emirates’ air defense system, struck him, authorities confirmed.

The UAE said its air defenses successfully destroyed multiple Iranian ballistic missiles in mid-air. However, fragments from one missile fell to the ground in Abu Dhabi’s populated areas, hitting a foreign national who was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Initial reports from Gulf media identified the victim as a foreign national from an Asian country. Later, local outlets confirmed he was a Pakistani citizen. His remains are set to be repatriated to Pakistan following formal procedures. Details such as his name and age have not yet been released.

The incident comes amid escalating tensions after joint US-Israel strikes on Iranian military and sensitive sites killed more than 70 people, including 51 primary school girls. In response, Iran has reportedly targeted US military facilities and interests in Gulf nations.

The UAE emphasized that its air defense systems effectively mitigated potential damage, but this tragic fatality highlights the growing civilian risks amid ongoing military confrontations in the region.
