Afghan FM Holds Call With Qatar Over Pakistan Tensions

Doha/Kabul – Web Desk: Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi held a telephone conversation with Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs amid ongoing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, according to a statement issued by Qatar’s Foreign Ministry.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry said the two officials discussed ways to reduce Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions and explored measures to promote peace and stability in the region.

During the call, Qatar reaffirmed its support for resolving regional and international disputes through peaceful dialogue. The Qatari minister emphasized Doha’s continued commitment to facilitating diplomatic engagement aimed at strengthening sustainable peace.

The conversation comes as Islamabad and Kabul face heightened cross-border security concerns, prompting regional diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.

Qatar has previously played a mediating role in regional conflicts and reiterated its readiness to support dialogue-based solutions.
