Pakistan Ready to Send Workers to Europe: Mohsin Naqvi

Date:

Rome, Italy – Web Desk: Pakistan is prepared to send both skilled and unskilled workers to European countries under legal migration channels, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said during a migration dialogue held in Rome.

Leading a Pakistani delegation, Naqvi participated in the international migration conference attended by his counterparts from Italy, Spain and Greece. He thanked Italy for allocating 10,500 job opportunities for Pakistani workers and described the move as a positive step toward strengthening bilateral labour cooperation.

Naqvi urged European countries to promote regular and legal pathways for migration to discourage irregular arrivals, particularly by sea. He emphasized that expanding lawful employment opportunities would help curb human smuggling networks and reduce illegal migration.

Ministers from Greece and Spain assured the Pakistani delegation that they would provide employment opportunities for Pakistani nationals, according to officials.

Authorities at the dialogue also noted a decline in the number of Pakistanis attempting to reach Europe through irregular maritime routes, calling it an encouraging development in migration management.

The discussions come amid broader European efforts to regulate migration flows while addressing labour shortages in several sectors, including agriculture, construction and services.
