Gold Prices Rise Again, Making Jewelry Less Affordable

Date:

(Web Desk) – Gold prices continued their upward trend in global and domestic markets, pushing precious metals further out of reach for many consumers.

In the international bullion market, gold increased by $30 per ounce, reaching $5,138 per ounce. The rise in global prices translated into higher domestic rates, with gold in Pakistan climbing by PKR 3,000 per tola to PKR 534,562.

The price of ten grams of gold also rose by PKR 2,572, settling at PKR 460,015.

Silver prices followed a similar trajectory. Per tola silver increased by PKR 146 to PKR 9,094, while ten grams of silver rose by PKR 125 to PKR 7,796.

Market analysts attribute the surge to global demand fluctuations and economic uncertainty, which continue to drive investor interest in precious metals as safe-haven assets.

Experts say sustained price increases could impact consumer purchasing power and the jewelry industry, particularly in regions where gold remains a traditional investment and cultural commodity.
