Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington, focusing on counterterrorism, economic cooperation, and investment opportunities.
Rubio, sharing a photo of the meeting on social media, expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its continued support of former President Trump’s peace initiative in Gaza and its role as a founding participant in the Board of Peace inaugural session. He also extended condolences over recent attacks in Balochistan on January 31 and the Islamabad bomb blast on February 6, underscoring the importance of the ongoing partnership in combating terrorism.
The discussions further highlighted Pakistan’s participation in the recent Critical Minerals Ministerial Meeting in Washington. Both sides explored avenues to develop Pakistan’s mineral and energy sectors and enhance trade and investment opportunities for American companies.
