Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Police in Karachi arrested four suspected criminals, including three who were injured, during separate gunfights across the city, officials said on Friday. Their accomplices managed to escape during the operations.
According to police, officers attempted to stop suspicious motorcyclists near Karsaz Road in the Bahadurabad area, prompting the suspects to open fire. Police returned fire, injuring and arresting two suspects, identified as Waris and Ashfaq, while their accomplices fled. Illegal weapons, ammunition, and a motorcycle were recovered from their possession.
The injured suspect was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment, while legal proceedings are under way and a search operation has been launched to trace the escaped suspects.
In a separate incident in Saeedabad, police exchanged fire with suspects, arresting one injured suspect while another fled the scene. Police recovered a firearm and snatched mobile phones from the suspect, and are verifying his identity and criminal record.
A third incident was reported in Malir’s Memon Goth area, where another suspect, identified as Khan Muhammad, was arrested in an injured condition during a police encounter, rescue officials said.
Karachi police said investigations are ongoing and efforts are under way to arrest the remaining suspects.
