Kabul, Afghanistan – Web Desk: The Afghan passport has once again been ranked among the world’s weakest, according to the latest Henley & Partners Passport Index. Afghanistan now occupies the 101st position, providing its citizens visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to just 25 countries.
Experts cite deteriorating diplomatic relations, political instability, security concerns, and an ongoing economic crisis as key factors behind the passport’s limited strength. The report notes that Afghan citizens face significant hurdles when attempting international travel, reflecting the country’s diplomatic isolation on the global stage.
Analysts emphasize that a passport’s power is closely linked to a nation’s international relations, security environment, and foreign policy. In Afghanistan’s current context, ordinary citizens experience severe limitations in mobility, further complicating cross-border travel during an already challenging period.
