PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Meets Sri Lanka Sports Minister, Strengthens Ties

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Web Desk: Federal Interior Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, met with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Sunil Kumara Gamij, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in sports, particularly cricket.

During the meeting, Naqvi extended a formal invitation to Minister Gamij to visit Pakistan, emphasizing the growing warmth in Pakistan-Sri Lanka relations. “We received immense hospitality and love during our visit to Sri Lanka,” Naqvi said, highlighting the importance of mutual respect and collaboration in strengthening ties.

The PCB Chairman stressed that cricket and other sports could serve as a platform to deepen bilateral relations further. He also praised Sri Lanka for its excellent arrangements during the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup, noting the significance of hosting international sporting events.

The meeting was attended by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Major General (Retired) Faheem Al-Aziz, PCB Advisor Amir Mir, Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed, and Pakistan Super League CEO Salman Naseer, reflecting the importance of continued cooperation and dialogue between the two cricket boards.

Both sides agreed to explore collaborative initiatives to promote cricket and youth engagement programs, aiming to strengthen sports diplomacy and foster long-term partnerships between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
